LEGAL & INFORMATION

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to the purchase, subscription and use of Animatronics Designer software and associated services.

By purchasing or using Animatronics Designer, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

1. Animatronics Designer

Animatronics Designer is software intended to assist users with the planning and development of animatronic and related electronic projects.

Features may include project planning, wiring information, component configuration, code generation and other technical assistance.

Support for particular operating systems, microcontrollers, development boards, controllers, sensors, actuators, motors, servos, interface modules or other third-party hardware may change as the software develops.

The website will identify the platforms and features currently supported.

Features described as Coming Soon, planned, experimental, preview or similar are not guaranteed to be released and no particular release date is promised unless expressly stated otherwise.

2. Annual subscriptions

Animatronics Designer is supplied under an annual subscription.

The current subscription options are:

Personal Licence — £39.99 per year plus applicable taxes

For activation on one permitted device at a time.

Multi-Device Licence — £49.99 per year plus applicable taxes

For activation on up to three permitted devices at a time.

Prices, features and licence options may change in the future. Any changes affecting an existing subscription will be communicated as required by applicable law before they take effect.

3. Automatic renewal

Unless cancelled, an annual subscription is intended to renew automatically each year using the payment method associated with the subscription.

The applicable renewal price, taxes and other required information will be presented or communicated in accordance with applicable law.

Where required, renewal reminders will be provided before payment is taken.

4. Cancelling a subscription

Customers may cancel future automatic renewal of their subscription.

Cancellation will not normally terminate access that has already been paid for. Unless applicable law or a refund provides otherwise, the licence may continue until the end of the current paid subscription period and will then expire.

We will provide a straightforward way for customers to manage or cancel their subscription.

Cancellation does not affect any statutory cancellation or refund rights available to the customer.

5. Licence keys and activation

A licence key is issued for use in accordance with the subscription purchased.

Personal and Multi-Device subscriptions provide the same core software unless otherwise stated; the primary difference is the permitted number of device activations.

Licence keys must not be sold, shared publicly, transferred to unrelated users or used to circumvent activation limits.

Reasonable mechanisms may be used to activate, deactivate and transfer a licence between the customer's own devices.

6. Renewal and expiry

While an eligible subscription remains active and is successfully renewed, its associated licence may remain valid for the renewed subscription period.

Where technically possible, renewal may extend the existing licence rather than requiring the customer to enter a new key.

If a subscription expires or terminates, access to functionality requiring an active licence may cease.

A customer who subsequently purchases a new subscription after a previous subscription has fully expired may be issued a new licence key.

7. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Animatronics Designer provides a 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee for eligible initial purchases.

A customer who is not satisfied may contact us within 14 days of the initial purchase to request a refund under this guarantee.

This guarantee is additional to, and does not replace or restrict, any statutory rights or remedies the customer may have.

Any separate statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.

Renewal payments will be handled in accordance with the subscription information provided to the customer and applicable consumer law.

8. Generated code and technical information

Animatronics Designer is an assistance and design tool.

The software may generate or provide source code, configuration information, wiring information, pin assignments, calculations, component suggestions, project structures or other technical output.

Such output may be generated using programmed rules, automated systems, artificial intelligence or a combination of technologies.

Generated output should not be assumed to be error-free or suitable for every project or hardware configuration.

Users must review, verify and test generated output before relying upon it in a real project.

9. Hardware and electrical safety

The user is responsible for ensuring that any hardware project is designed, constructed, powered and operated safely.

This includes checking, where relevant:

• supply voltage and polarity;

• current requirements and power-supply capacity;

• grounding and isolation;

• wiring and connector ratings;

• pin capabilities and limitations;

• motor, servo and actuator power requirements;

• appropriate drivers, protection devices and fusing;

• manufacturer specifications and datasheets; and

• any other safety requirements relevant to the project.

A diagram, generated code sample, configuration or other output from Animatronics Designer is not a substitute for appropriate engineering judgement, manufacturer documentation or professional advice where required.

10. Third-party hardware and software

Animatronics Designer may support or refer to products, libraries, development environments, hardware or services supplied by third parties.

Third-party products are controlled by their respective manufacturers or providers.

Compatibility may be affected by changes to third-party hardware, firmware, libraries, drivers, APIs, operating systems or other software.

References to third-party products do not imply ownership of, endorsement by or affiliation with those third parties unless expressly stated.

11. Future hardware and features

Animatronics Designer may be expanded to support additional hardware, operating systems, controllers and technologies.

The addition of new hardware support does not necessarily mean that every variant, revision, clone or configuration of that hardware is supported.

Customers should check the current compatibility information before relying on support for a particular device or configuration.

12. Software updates

Updates may add, modify, improve or remove features where reasonably necessary for development, compatibility, security or reliability.

Some future functionality may have additional requirements.

We will not intentionally remove a customer's statutory rights through a software update.

13. macOS and Coming Soon features

Where macOS or another platform or feature is displayed as Coming Soon, it is not currently included as an available supported release unless the website expressly states otherwise.

Coming Soon information represents development intentions and is not a guarantee of release, compatibility or a particular launch date.

Customers should purchase based on the functionality and platforms stated as currently available at the time of purchase.

14. Availability and support

We aim to keep Animatronics Designer, licensing and associated services available and functioning correctly.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, updates, hosting failures, internet problems, third-party services or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Support is provided through the contact/support methods shown on the official Animatronics Designer website.

15. Acceptable use

Customers must not deliberately bypass licence controls, distribute licence keys publicly, resell unauthorised copies of the software, interfere with licensing systems, or use the software in a manner that infringes applicable law or the rights of others.

Nothing in this section prevents legitimate backup, security research, interoperability or other activity where such activity is protected by applicable law.

16. Liability

Animatronics and electronic projects can involve electrical, mechanical and moving components and may create risks if incorrectly designed, wired, programmed, assembled or operated.

Users remain responsible for reviewing their project and determining whether it is safe and appropriate for its intended use.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under applicable consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms removes statutory rights relating to digital content.

17. Privacy and payment processing

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Animatronics Designer Privacy Policy.

Payments and subscription billing may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their own privacy and payment terms may also apply to information processed by them.

18. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated where reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to the software, supported hardware, subscription arrangements, services or applicable law.

Where a material change affects an existing subscription, customers will be informed where required by law.

19. Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Animatronics Designer's business in the United Kingdom, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to the customer.

Customers may have additional rights under the laws applicable where they live.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or override rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Contact

Questions concerning a subscription, cancellation, refund, licence or these Terms can be submitted through the official Animatronics Designer Support page.

Customers do not need to publish personal information in the community support group to obtain account or purchase assistance.
